We’ve all spent a long time indoors. So long in fact, that I think a lot of us have lost our mojo.
What did we even wear back when people could see us? Can’t we keep our stretchy waistbands a bit longer? Is it okay if you don’t feel much like going out and would rather have a girly night in?
Basically, the rules of fashion are so far in the past that it’s carte blanche out there now. The only real rule is to make sure you’re comfortable, and don’t go anywhere you’re not comfortable with. Some people are ready to go back to cocktails on a terrace, while others are still more cautious.
No matter how you plan on socialising, there’s a style out there for you.
Loungewear is still very much in
Staying home for the best part of a year meant most of us lived in loungewear. The great news is that it’s here to stay. Oversized loungewear is comfy to wear indoors and fine to wear out too. Grey loungewear remains the colour of choice for most people, but other shades like stone and black are also on-trend.
If you fancy going for something that looks a little less plain, tie dye loungewear is also s great option.
The wonderful thing is loungewear always puts comfort first. The waistband is stretchy and you can choose a top that’s long and hides any bulges you’re not quite ready for the world to see.
For those who are after something that’s bold, a cropped loungewear top is a great addition to any wardrobe.
Co-ords are a top fashion choice
My favourite thing about co-ords is that they’re a ready made outfit. There’s no worrying about what your new items of clothes will be worn with. Of course, you can mix and match if you fancy a change but the ease of co ord sets is what draws me to them.
Another great thing is co-ords are for all occasions. Going to the beach? Wear a co-ord. Having a girlie night at home? Co-ord. Going out for cocktails? Co-ord and heels! There is no occasion a co-ord is not a suitable outfit choice. You could probably even pull one off at a wedding (just don’t wear white).
I was gifted the gorgeous pink co-ord in the picture above. It’s great for wearing around the house when I want to get out of my pyjamas but still want to be comfy.
A body con midi is great for a night out
When you feel like you’re ready for a night out, you can’t beat a body con dress. I love this one-shouldered body con midi dress because it’s perfect for so many places. It’s a super stretchy fabric that allows room to move. I also think it’s great for most weather too.
The bare shoulder on one side is cooling, while the full sleeve on the other won’t see you getting cold. It’s a slinky shape that accentuates curves and smooths over lumps you might not want on show.
What better outfit to go for on your first night out? Pair with some heels and enjoy your drinks with friends!
Milkmaid bardot tops and dresses are a great look
Having your shoulders out can take you from dressed down to elegant in thirty seconds flat.
Bardot style tops have been creeping up the style ranks for quite some time now, but the milkmaid top style is really starting to come to into its own.
Ensure your shoulders are out and pick and style with puff sleeves that also accentuates your curves.
Milkmaid tops are great for dressing up and down. You could wear them with jeans for a quiet night down the pub. If you want to dress up a milkmaid top, you can pair it with a skirt and heels for a girly glamorous finish.
What will you be wearing when you see you friends again? Have your got a girls night in planned with takeaways, facemasks and some comfy loungewear? Or are you more into getting dressed up for cocktails, tapas and a night of dancing? Whatever your plans, I hope some of these suggestions have inspired you to add some beautiful new pieces to your wardrobe.
